Three Amigos Candy Bars

Thursday May 22, 2008
Did you know that the Three Musketeers candy bar originally came in three pieces, each a different flavor? When the candy was changed to one solid bar in the 1940s, the vanilla and strawberry components were dropped in favor of an all-chocolate bar. (You can thank me when you win Final Jeopardy with that piece of trivia.) As a confirmed chocoholic I always felt some loyalty to the Three Musketeers bar, since it was one of the few that didn't dilute its chocolate with caramel or nuts. However, I have to reluctantly admit that its mild flavor doesn't always satiate my chocolate cravings. My Three Amigos candy bar uses a whole pound of semi-sweet chocolate in the fluffy chocolate filling, for a deep, rich chocolate taste that satisfies even the most discriminating chocolate lover.
