Stained Glass Fudge

Some candy recipes are like prime rib, while others are more like...hot dogs. The prime rib-type recipes are elegant, gourmet, and perfect for serving as an after-coffee treat to company. The hot dog recipes, on the other hand, are nothing you'd ever present to other people with pride. They're more likely the recipes you make when you have a craving and want instant gratification with a minimum of fuss. They're satisfying, and they're sort of a guilty pleasure.

This recipe for Stained Glass Fudge is definitely more like a hot dog than prime rib! (And with that, I shall stop comparing candy to meat products.) Gourmet it ain't, but easy and kid-pleasin' it is. This simple microwave fudge is packed with colored miniature marshmallows. When the fudge is cut into squares, the marshmallows give the fudge a multicolored appearance similar to stained glass.
