Today for your viewing pleasure, I'm pleased to present skull & bone candies. No, it's not a secret society at Yale. (Or is it?) Rather, these three Halloween candy recipes all take their inspiration from skeletons. Make no bones about it, they're good! First up, Skull Marshmallows. They're the perfect recipe for folks who want to make a little homemade treat, but don't actually want to make anything. Store-bought marshmallows are cut and shaped into skulls, then set onto a chocolate disc. You could leave off the chocolate and use these marshmallows to top your favorite brownies, cupcakes, or cake instead.
Why have just a skull when you can enjoy the whole skeleton? These Fudge Skeletons are made from a quick and easy chocolate fudge that is cut and decorated to look like spooky skeletons. Serve them as dessert at a Halloween party, or wrap them individually and give them out as favors.
Meringue Bones are light, crispy meringues shaped like bones. Because they're low-calorie and fat-free, they're a great choice if you want a sweet treat but don't want to overdo it this Halloween. BONE appetit!
