Cranberry Candy Recipes

It seems to me that fresh cranberries get a raw deal. They're pretty much ignored 11 months out of the year, and then when November rolls around, bam! People scoop them up, but they're mostly just used to make cranberry sauce. Post-Thanksgiving, the poor cranberry is once again relegated to the back of the freezer or cupboard, not to be seen for 11 long months.

This is a shame, because fresh cranberries are delicious, and are good for so much more than making sauce! Their bold, tart flavor makes them a natural fit for many candy recipes, where they are able to balance out the sugar and prevent even the sweetest candies from becoming too cloying. If you find yourself with a surplus of fresh cranberries this holiday season, don't freeze them! Don't toss them! Use them to make one of these cranberry candy recipes. This list also includes a few candies made with dried cranberries, which are easier to find year-round but still have a nice tartness and flavor.
