Truffle Spoons

I first saw the concept of these dessert spoons done with chocolate. Just plain chocolate, melted and poured into spoons, then topped with sprinkles. It was simple and sweet and a great little treat for kids to make and enjoy. I liked the idea, but thought it might be even better with truffle filling. Basic chocolate is all well and good, but wouldn't a smooth, creamy chocolate ganache be even more satisfying to lick off the bowl of a spoon?

Turns out the answer to that question is yes! These Truffle Spoons couldn't be easier, but they're oh so good. You get all the benefits of eating truffles, without any of the work of rolling and dipping them. Simply pipe the ganache onto spoons, top with a few sprinkles, chill briefly, and you're set! It's basically the classy version of dipping your spoon into the truffle bowl once or twice.

Truffle Spoons are the perfect party food: you can display them on large platters, and guests can nibble on the truffles without getting their hands or clothes dirty with melting chocolate or cocoa powder. They can also make great gifts if you package them carefully. After trying these Truffle Spoons, you may never roll another truffle again!
