Conversation Heart Candies

By February 7, 2013

Follow me on:

Remember when Necco changed the conversation heart flavors a few years ago and everyone freaked out? I'll be honest. I'm still not over it. The good news is that some readers are reporting that another company, called Mayfair, is making conversation hearts that taste like the old Necco flavors. I haven't tried them myself, but you can read the comments in this post to get the full scoop. If you've tried the Mayfair hearts, let me know what you think in the comments below!

In the meantime, what's a conversation heart-loving girl to do? I think for now I'll stick to something I know tastes good: Homemade Conversation Hearts. That's right, you are no longer stuck giving your loved ones store-bought hearts that say "Tweet Me" or "Dream Lover," or that come in flavors like watermelon-sour apple-limeade. Now you can make your own hearts and customize them completely, from color and flavor to personalized sayings!

If you happen to have conversation hearts already, put those candies to good use by making a Conversation Heart Wreath! This wreath has the dual benefit of being a cute, fun Valentine's Day decoration for the home, and making me feel resourceful for using up over a pound of V-day candy.

Here are a few more Conversation Hearts recipe for you. Or as we say in Conversation Heart-speak, 4 U. 2 Cool!

If you don’t make your own…Buy BRACH’s Brand. They still have the great old flavors & sayings we love. :)
