Chocolate Honeycomb is one of those recipes that you know you need, even if you're not sure why you need it. I first saw something similar to chocolate honeycomb when browsing a cake photo gallery--it was used to decorate a honey cake. There was no description of how it was made, but I was immediately smitten by the pattern and put it down on my list of candies to play with. I had no immediate need for chocolate honeycomb--okay, no long-term need, either--but it was so cute, I wanted to have the skill in my arsenal.

Fast-forward a few years, and a friend has decided to have a "Queen Bee" party for her daughter. And how shall we decorate the cupcakes and cake, you ask? Chocolate Honeycomb to the rescue! It's simple, it can be made in large quantities, it's fun and playful--in short, it's perfect for a child's birthday party! So hop on over to the recipe, check out how it's made, and keep it in the back of your mind. You never know when you, too, might need to bust out some honeycomb-shaped chocolate.
