Yield: 6 cups Nutella Cereal Snackers
Ingredients:
- 4 cups cereal like Corn Chex or Crispix
- 1/2 cup hazelnuts, toasted and coarsely chopped
- 2/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/3 cup chocolate-hazelnut spread like Nutella
- 1/ cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Preparation:
1. Combine the cereal and the hazelnuts in a large bowl and set aside.
2. Place the semi-sweet chocolate chips in a small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave until melted, stirring after every 30 seconds to prevent overheating. Once melted and smooth, add the Nutella and stir until both are combined.
3. Pour the Nutella mixture over the cereal and turn gently with a spatula until all of the cereal is coated.
4. Place the powdered sugar and cocoa powder togetherin a gallon-sized zip-top plastic bag and shake until they're mixed, then add the cereal. Close the top of the bag and shake and massage it with your fingers until the cereal is separated into individual pieces and they are coated with cocoa powder.
5. Turn the cereal out onto a baking sheet and let it cool completely at room temperature until the chocolate is set and the cereal is crunchy.
6. Store Nutella Cereal Snackers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks.
