Bazooka Bubble Gum is a familiar name to most American children. In recent years the Bazooka brand has expanded beyond plain bubble gum and has introduced Bazooka Bubble Gum pops and Bazooka Bubble Juice. The pops consist of a hard candy surrounding an inner layer of bubble gum, similar to a Blow Pop, and are available in classic flavors like Orange, Cherry, Grape, and Green Apple. Bazooka Bubble Juice consists of candy-coated nuggets of gum in different fruit flavors like Strawberry, Blue Raspberry and Green Apple.

Review of Bazooka Bubble Gum Pops

The Bazooka Bubble Gum Pops were a big disappointment. I grew up loving Charms Blow Pops, so I was really looking forward to another take on the candy-covered gum lollipop. However, the hard candy coating had no real taste. The candy was vaguely sweet and fruity, but if I hadn’t consulted the outer wrappings, it would have been hard to identify which fruit flavor was which. I tried eating alternating bites of the different lollipops, and there wasn’t much difference between each of the different flavors.

Additionally, the candy layer was soft enough so that I could sink my teeth into it a little bit. At first I wondered if the candy layer was actually a gum, too, so I tried to enthusiastically bite all the way through. Big mistake. I broke through to the gum, but then I was left chewing hard, flavorless chunks of candy and gum together. The gum had a nice, strong bubblegum flavor, but it was overly sweet and only lasted a few minutes. Overall, this candy wasn’t very good and there are much better options available on the market. I would give the Bubble Gum Pops 1.5 stars.

Review of Bazooka Bubble Juice

Bazooka Bubble Juice, despite the questionable name, is a great product. These little candy-coated nuggets look like extra-large Nerds candy, but once you bite through the sweet-tart shell, they turn into flavored bubble gum. The candy coating is strong and tangy, and this is one candy where I can honestly say I enjoyed every different flavor. The shells provide a little resistance but are easy enough to bite through, and although it sounds odd, it was very satisfying to chew them. I found this candy addicting, and could easily go through a whole bag in one sitting (which is not recommended, as that would be about 180 calories of pure sugar).

The downside of this product is that the flavor goes rather quickly, so I found myself spitting out the used gum after about a minute. So if you’re looking for a genuine gum product, Bubble Juice isn’t the best choice, but if you want a fun take on traditional gum, give Bubble Juice a try. One final warning: some of the flavors make liberal use of food dye, so be sure to do a mirror check after eating! I wound up with some unsavory blue teeth the first time I tried the Blue Raspberry flavor. Overall, I would buy this candy on a regular basis, and I give it 4 stars.
